THE FESTIVAL

  THAT is NEVER THE SAME

 Dear friends!

We invite you to participate in

VIII-th Open Festival-Contest for young   composers

"Music my soul" which takes place in Petrozavodsk

(Karelia, Russia) on 10-12th of January 2014.

... There are some kids like this.  From the first look they may seem very strange, out of the world, some strange ideas, strange questions, absent look. Possibly there is him in front of you - the  young composer.  And each of his opus - is invaluable, because there is a reflection of his emerging vision of the world. How we can help him to focus his creative imaginative mind into the right direction to the happy and implemented professional adulthood?

At first place, the profession of composer is very popular nowdays: the soundtrack to a film, the music in concert hall, theatre, pop sceene, education... Even for making a cell ring tone you need a composer. But how to help the young composer to find his own path? The International Open Festival-Contest "Music - my soul " will help children and their teachers and parents to solve this difficult issue and realise this rarest talent.

The Festival - Contest of young composers " MUSIC - MY SOUL" was born at the Children's Music and Choir School in 2001 and was held every two years. The main inspirer, artistic director and participant of this event is composer and teacher of the composition class Victoria Sergeenko. The idea of the festival is supported by  the Administration of Petrozavodsk, Russian Union of Composers , composition classes of Karelian music schools. In 2011, the festival has acquired the status of All-Russian Festival which is open also to international guests. A bird with a wide wingspan - as a symbol of free flight of creative thought from reality to cyberspace and back - has become a symbol of the Festival.

Every year the Festival is moving to become and Academy of Arts for participants. Each time we have discovered new areas of

works and nominations:

  • Academical and pop music genres

  • Choral and instrumental music

  • The soundtrack to the animation

  • The interactive and outdoors events "HIKE for INSPIRATION"

  • Creative "RECEPTIONS" presented by Festival guests

  • Master classes for students and teachers

In 2007 there started an unique project called "The school for young musicologists and music critics". The propose of this project is creating playground for children trying themselfs as beginning music researchers, historians, critics, music journalists.

In 2009 the Festival has presented the sattelite project  "Composer.Opus1" surrounding composers-teachers and developing new teaching methods in the spheres of music composition.

Music is a  worldwide

language that there's no need

to translate...

This is  how       souls

talk to one another..."
